road service in santa rosa

Road Service

For those of us commuters who travel the freeway system or highways in Santa Rosa or Sonoma County for that matter, you have seen your fair share of broken down cars. If you have ever broken down on one of those thoroughfares than you can relate to wanting help out there fast. As you know, Yarbrough Bros Towing is an Independent Contractor for a rather large Motor Club. However, that club is only one of probably at least 12 other motor clubs or road service companies nation wide.

Mobile Battery Service & Replacement

With the recent expansion that Yarbrough Brothers Towing has experienced, we now are running a total of nine Mobile Battery Service vehicles on any given day in Santa Rosa. These vehicles and the technicians driving them, can respond to your place of business, residence or location of breakdown and efficiently test your car or trucks battery and charging system to determine if a battery replacement is required or if your alternator is doing its job. They can also diagnose whether your starter motor is operating properly.

a cool Santa Rosa Tow in hot weather

Although the local weather is starting to feel more like winter, Sonoma County did have a few hot days earlier this month and they reminded me of a tow Towingsantarosa that we did where a vehicle had overheated and the customer had been waiting for quite some time for an obscure road club. The customer had elected to call us directly and when Yarbrough Bros Towing responded quickly, she was very relieved. Apparently the other company that was called to help her, was not going to be there for over an hour and she had already been on the side of the road for close to 30 minutes.

Safe Towing Capacity & limits.

As i was out towing in Santa Rosa the other day, one of the calls i was on was for a Dodge BR3500 dually truck that had a utility bed on it. As i was talking to the company driver of that truck while i was hooking up to it with my Medium Duty Tow Truck, the driver stated that he was "glad you guys could do this tow cuz the road club said it was too big".

TIRE PRESSURE and your safety

Earlier this week I was in the Lobby of a Dealership that we tow for and I came across some informational literature that we here at Yarbrough Bros Towing felt would be beneficial to our friends and customers. So here it is;

"Proper tire inflation pressure is the specified air pressure given by a carmaker for a certain tire on a specific vehicle. This pressure specification should not be confused with a tire's maimum pressure, which is usually listed on the tire's sidewall"...Car Care Council.

Responding to an accident

One of my friends the other day asked me "i bet you see all kinds of crashes in your business" which got me thinking about the topic of today's blog. Accident response in the Towing world.

Cold Weather Expected to Hit North Bay.

As you know, the cold weather is still here and News Stations are predicting snow at Sea level. As such, black ice, slippery when wet and wet road advisories will be in place for the roadways of Sonoma County. Anticipate the unexpected and give yourself and other drivers an extra cushion. Adhere to the wet road advisory of decreasing your speeds on the roads and highways, increasing your following distances between vehicles and drive extra cautious to give yourself more reaction time.

Dead Battery

Signs that your vehicles Battery may be in need of replacement or getting close too. The most common sound you will hear when trying to start your car when you have a dead battery is "click click click click" in rapid succession. This is typically when the battery has just enough juice to turn the starter cylinoid over but not the starter. The often heard "CLICK......" once & then nothing is usually when the battery does not have enough power to even turn the cylinoid more than once OR the starter is going bad.
