towing santa rosa

Safe Towing Capacity & limits.

As i was out towing in Santa Rosa the other day, one of the calls i was on was for a Dodge BR3500 dually truck that had a utility bed on it. As i was talking to the company driver of that truck while i was hooking up to it with my Medium Duty Tow Truck, the driver stated that he was "glad you guys could do this tow cuz the road club said it was too big".

Recovery on Markwest Springs Rd

Hello there Santa Rosa. I mentioned yesterday about a recovery I did several months ago where the CHP called us out to get it as the first responding company, Santa Rosa Towing, according the the customer, could not find it the day before under AAA. Now this could have been due to bad weather, maybe it was dark out, I do not know, I do know that this time, CHP & the vehicle owner were going to meet me at the corner of Old Redwood Highway to have me follow them up to the loss scene.

Have a Plan!

You often hear about having a Plan. Whether it's a disaster plan (a very good idea by the way), fire plan or plan of attack, being prepared with a plan can eliminate confusion, delay in achieving a goal or simply not being able to complete a task that you set out to do. This is my topic this afternoon; having a plan of attack for a successful work day in the Towing business.

Cold Weather Expected to Hit North Bay.

As you know, the cold weather is still here and News Stations are predicting snow at Sea level. As such, black ice, slippery when wet and wet road advisories will be in place for the roadways of Sonoma County. Anticipate the unexpected and give yourself and other drivers an extra cushion. Adhere to the wet road advisory of decreasing your speeds on the roads and highways, increasing your following distances between vehicles and drive extra cautious to give yourself more reaction time.

Safe Driving & Towing Practices

Earlier this Month I blogged about a 3 car accident that Yarbrough Bros Towing responded to while Towing in Santa Rosa. Another topic came to mind as a result of witnessing this crash scene. Safe Driving Practices in accord with driving a commercial vehicle. Obviously, the people involved in this accident were recipients of a failure to adhere to safe driving practices. The most common vehicle accident is a rear-ender. These are more likely caused by inattention or distraction than speed.

a winter wet road advisory

A long standing company policy for Yarbrough Bros Towing has been to give our drivers a Wet Road Advisory anytime there is a bit of rain and the chance of slick roads. The Wet Road Advisory is just a reminder to those driving in inclement weather to decrease their speed on the roadways, increase the distances between vehicles on the road and to be EXTRA cautious while driving. While Towing in Santa Rosa, specifically on Sonoma Hwy near Brush Creek and Farmers lane a few days ago, i came across two accidents that were a direct result of wet roads and following too close.
